The art of engineless flying, piloting with true finesse, dominating the up-currents, surfing mountain slopes, flying alongside the raptors and other gliding specialists, accompanied by the noise of the wind only, that’s what gliding is about! You will start training down in the plain on a two-seater, then go on to a single-seater.
As soon as the good weather comes along, the Caïen pilots will drive you out each weekend in their growling automobiles to taste the pleasures of gliding through the skies.
Then in May comes the much awaited event: the RVVGEA (the Glider Meeting of the aeronautical schools, with ISAE/SUPAERO, ENAC, ENSMA, l’Ecole de l’Air and ESTACA).
This means 4 days of flying all expenses paid and the chance to meet plenty of other enthusiasts. Here you will go through a programme of your first spins, your first figures of 8, your first flyovers, first flights in patrol, in other words plenty to discover in complete safety, not to forget the partying where N6K really gets things going …
The Institute subsidises a good half of the cost of training, and as you are under 25 years of age, the Gliding Federation provides generous grants at each stage of your training (first solo, licence, etc.), so you can fly at little cost!
