    Climbing & Mountaineering

If you’re an experienced climber and you had rubber grafted onto your toes when you were just 6 or you just want to go hiking in the mountains, do cross country skiing or rock climbing, or, if you are not afraid of the cold and of big ice floes in the ice cascades, then Club Montagne is just for you!

You can take advantage of the club’s equipment and the equipped rooms when the weather is too bad (there is a climbing wall just 10 minutes from the campus). Also, on Thursday afternoons, when the sun comes out, you can jump in a car at 12.30 and head in the direction of one of the many Pyrenean cliffs. There is also the Mediterranean coast not too far away, with its limestone cliffs amidst pine forests, and then the creeks…

The Bureau des Guides des Pyrénées ariégeoises will introduce you, if you so wish, to any kind of mountain climbing sport, of more or less risk, better by far than “Vertical Limit”… Discover the ice corridors, climb the peaks and long mountain passes. All this is possible and waiting for you. You might even take the initiative to organise a trip.

Finally, even if you are more of a sports snob (we have already some in the club!) and if going for a helicopter trip in winter is not up your street but you like the friendly atmosphere in the climbing rooms and the mountains exert an attraction on you, then come and join us!
