Internships and projects

The ENSICA Graduate Program has four formulae for immersion in the world of the enterprise:

Final project thesis

This project constitutes a transition between school education and the engineer’s profession. It places the student in a situation as close to real working life as is possible.

The project is conducted preferably within a company and lasts from four to six months in France or in another country. Students attracted by research can follow a Research Master during their third year. They then conduct a six month project in a research centre or university abroad. Fifteen to twenty percent of students follow through their projects abroad (Europe, North America, Asia, etc.).

Technically speaking, the project aims to solve an industrial problem in a limited time, taking into account all factors the future engineer will be led to encounter.

The student must submit a thesis, support it by a viva voce defence and produce a summary report. He or she will be supervised throughout the duration of the project by an engineer, a scientific manager belonging to a teaching and research department and by any other expert or advisor according to what is needed.

Year of full immersion in a company

Between the second and third year, students are offered the possibility of spending a whole year fully immersed in a company, an original opportunity to thoroughly get to know the industrial sector and the engineer’s profession. This year also avails industrialists of the chance to better get to know and appreciate ENSICA Graduate Program.

For students, this year means they can acquire experience and maturity, putting into practise over a significant period of time, the various lessons learnt over previous years. The experience thus gained by these students is also bound to work to the advantage of the entire student year through the testimonials they will bring in and the new perspectives they can bring in on what has been learnt.

“Discovering the world of enterprise” internship – end of 1st year

This internship’s aim is to get the student to discover the industrial world so as to better understand how a company operates.

Engineer’s internship – end of 2nd year

This internship allows the student to try out the engineer’s profession for a relatively significant period of 3 months.
