Research works are largely oriented towards the new needs of aeronautical, space and high-tech industries, major groups or regional SMEs.
The various Programs are dispensed in close relation with industry, especially by project work on research themes of interest to firms (EADS-Astrium, Alcatel Alenia Space, EADS, Airbus, SAFRAN [Turbomeca, SNECMA], EUROCOPTER, PSA, etc.).
Research activity with firms, ISAE’s own or associated laboratories represented revenues of more than 12 million euros not including VAT (figures from the survey conducted by l'Etudiant magazine 12.6 M€) and concerned sixty firms including 20 % of SMEs.
Works for firms are conducted by the training and research departments (detailed presentation and themes) within the scope of a partnership that allows the firm to benefit from teaching – research synergy within these departments.
It should be emphasised that the way the Directorate of Research and Teaching Resources is organised allows multidisciplinary studies requiring co-operation between several departments to be conducted.
Moreover, interventions by junior-entreprise Junior Conseil allow students to put the knowledge they acquire into practice through conducting studies on behalf of firms. Among the main customers: Dassault Aviation, Airbus, Thales, EDF and SNECMA.
